Mission

United Way of Franklin County unites people and resources to improve lives and create lasting change in our community.

Funding is provided to Partner Agencies providing health and human services to the local area.  Our community is strengthened in the areas of Income, Health and Education not only through our Partner Agencies but also through our United Way Initiatives, 2-1-1 familywize, text4baby, and Stuff the Bus. Funds are raised primarily through employee payroll deduction and special events.

Diversity and Inclusion

Underlying the role and mission of the United Way of Franklin County (UWFC) is a firm belief in the diversity and inclusion of all people.  Diversity is the quality of being different or unique at the individual or group level.  This quality includes age; ethnicity; gender; gender identity; language differences; nationality; parental status; physical, mental, and developmental abilities; race; religion; sexual orientation; skin color; socioeconomic status; work and behavioral styles; experiential background; and more. We strive to create an environment of inclusion where people in our community can express themselves, can feel supported, and can achieve their personal best.

Our diversity and inclusion policy guides our employment practices, program funding, and volunteer recruitment in an attempt to reflect the positive value of diversity and inclusion within the community in which it operates.  UWFC is committed to structuring itself and managing its functions in accord with the unique characteristics, demographics, and culture of Franklin County.
